Buying Beachside Property

When buying beachside property, one needs to know what they are getting.  Property on a barrior island is more expensive than buying inland, but you are buying a lifestyle, a slower pace of life, a place where one can walk on the beach after work, or to walk around the neighborhood talking to neighbors.  Living at the beach gives you a chance to meet others who vacation here wanting to live for at least a week or two, the lifestyle you have chosen.

On the islands, there are so many different type of homes to choose from, oceanfront, back waterfront with a dock, marshfront, lakefront, in planned neighborhoods or on neat well groomed streets.  On Sullivan's Island, one can choose to live with history going back to before the Civil War with fantastic old government built quarters to homes that rival anywhere.  The islands are made up of a diverse selection of homes ranging from small cottages to luxury mansions.

The islands are made up of diverse range of ownership, about 1/3 are island residents, 1/3 are 2nd home property owners and the last 1/3 are vacation properties owned by both locals and those from afar.  The common denominator is that everyone is friendly and quick to say hello.

Jimmy Carroll is one of the very few Realtors who has lived here his whole life.  He knows the islands, he knows the school system personally from the first grade on thru his graduation from the College of Charleston in 1978.  Jimmy has made it a point to be involved with the community and in giving back as well as to his profession, having served at all levels, including being a past President of the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors and a past President of the Multiple Listing Service.  Jimmy knows the islands, and knows real estate.  He choose real estate as his profession after his college graduation in 1978 and starting Carroll Realty Inc in 1981.  When making one of the largest investments in your life, make sure you hire the one who knows it best and is not afraid to tell you that a particular property may not be the right one for you at the risk of not making a sale.  Jimmy wants you to be a satisfied client and a friend for life.
