PAN AMERICAN MODERNISM OCT. 6- JAN. 7
The Gibbes Museum of Art presents its Pan American Modernism:Avant-Garde Art in Latin America and the United States exhibition which focuses on the artistic presence of modernism across the Americas between 1919 and 1979. Of primary concern with this exhibit, is the how Latin American artists were influenced by and themselves affected the modernism movement. The art will be separated into five sections: Mexican Muralism and Its Legacy, The Female Muse, Abstract Expressionism, Modernist Photography, and Geometric Abstraction and Its Legacy.

Pablo Picasso's grandson, Olivier Widmaier Picasso, is a producer of documentaries on contemporary art, opera, architecture, design, fashion, music, and photography. His biography, Picasso, Portrait Intime, documents the stories from people closest to the artist. After the lecture, he will sign books.
